Oregon BBP Compliance Guide

For tattoo artists, piercers, PMU artists, and studio owners
The Hook Studio owners are the responsible party under OAR 333-106 for facility compliance and under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030(g)(2) as training officer for any exposed employee. Owner certification is required even when the owner never personally tattoos a client.

Oregon Requirements at a Glance

Annual Renewal Every 12 months from prior completion date (OSHA refresher).
Provider Approval HLO-approved provider with hands-on demonstration component required.
Initial Training 2-hour minimum session within 10 working days of assignment.
Studio Records ECP, training records (3 yr), Hep B vaccination/declination on file.

Inspection-Prep Checklist
